Podiatry and Footcare Treatments Offered
At Across the Bay we pride ourselves on medical excellence and our Podiatrists are trained to a BSC degree standard to enable us to offer a wide range of treatments.
We have the ability to diagnose, treat and cure your aliments in order to enable you to live without pain and move comfortably.
Initial Consultation
On your first consultation we will ask for all relevant medical history and perform a vascular and neurological examination to assess the overall health of your feet and lower limbs.
Included in this initial contact will be a full foot care treatment including, nail care, callus debridement, corn enucleation, verruca care and fungal skin/nail treatment.
Routine Appointments
We advise you to see us every six to eight weeks.
These appt are designed to monitor your feet and perform any necessary maintenance to ensure a good standard of foot health.
We would also recommend annual foot vascular and Neurological examinations.
Nail Surgery
This is a permanent solution to your painful toe nails.
Following our assessment, we will determine whether this is a suitable option for you to rectify any ingrowing toenails.
This is a procedure that can be conducted by the NHS podiatry team, however, we advise you check how long it would take for you to be seen. We can see you at a time suitable to you.
The Diabetic Foot
Are you diabetic or borderline diabetic?
If you suffer from Diabetes, looking after your feet is essential. Reduction in blood circulation and issues with nerves in your feet means you have an increased chance of suffering a foot ailment.
Working alongside NICE guidelines we will help maintain your overall foot health to prevent any long-term complications.
Biomechanics/Sports
From Toe Pain to back pain and everything in between
We can assess your personal biomechanics and use various treatments from Stecco method of fascial manipulation, KT-Taping and orthotic/insole intervention to ensure you are back on your feet in no time (enjoy the pun).
If you are wanting to return to participating in sports or need your gait analysing we can help give you the tools to get back living comfortable, pain free and achieving peak performance.
Child Foot Health
Worried about your child’s verruca, or is your active young footballer worried about heel pain?
We can examine your child’s feet and treat their ailments to relive pain and remove stubborn verrucas so you don’t have to worry about them being spread to the rest of the family.
Jake Yates MCPods, BSc (Hons)
Lead Podiatrist
Jake graduated with a 1st class honours in Podiatric Medicine at the University of Salford following his career in the Armed Forces and serving in Cyprus, Northern Ireland and Afghanistan.
Gaining experience as a Podiatrist in both the NHS and private clinics, Jake decided to set up his own Podiatry practice in Morecambe, offering a range of Podiatry treatments.
As a member of the Royal College of Podiatry (RCOP) and being HCPC registered you are in safe hands with Jake.
When he is not helping his patients with their footcare needs, Jake spends his time with his partner Elise, their son Jude and their bulldog Reggie. On Saturday’s you’ll likely find him on the terraces at Morecambe FC supporting the Shrimps!
Daniel Coulthard
Practice Manager
Daniel works alongside Jake assisting in all matters except footcare. Don’t worry, we only allow qualified Podiatrists to tend to your feet.
With Jake busy helping local people with their footcare needs, Daniel is hidden away in the background. What specifically does Daniel do? That’s probably best answered as “Keeping Jake busy. Keeping Jake happy.”
Outside of the Podiatry clinic Daniel coaches in Morecambe FC’s academy with the Under 12 age group.
